Badgers QB Commit Graham Mertz Gets Alabama Offer… Ruh Roh
Do you know the name Graham Mertz? If you don’t, he’s a Wisconsin Badgers quarterback commit for the 2019, and he might be the biggest Badgers quarterback recruit since Russell Wilson made the grad transfer. Mertz is picking up a ton of steam from other teams around the country as the hype is becoming real around him in the last couple of weeks. It started with Miami putting an offer to him, and then a big boy came swinging last night with Alabama extending an offer. That might not be the best thing in the world.

First thing if Mertz decides to go somewhere else, that’s not a big deal. People should accept that these are kids, and they can do whatever they want. Sure, Alabama can drop the bag (Shouts to One Shining Pod), and it will make everyone mad. There’s a long way to go in Mertz’s recruitment, and people are going to keep coming at him. This can be the issue with an early commit, and then a kid has a glow up like what’s been happening with Mertz. Wisconsin can hang with Alabama though. I know that sounds crazy, but Wisconsin isn’t some mid-tier Big Ten team. They’re routinely in the top 10 and playing in CFB Playoff games.
I don’t think it’s a lock that Mertz leaves, but yes, the fear is out there.
