Bucks Buzz: Paul George Blasts Off & Beats Bucks
“Living his/her best life” is a comment we see on social media all the time. Paul George could be defined as a person living his best life right now. George is a machine. He is having his best season of his career and is a legitimate MVP contender. George hasn’t been getting the attention that Giannis Antetokounmpo, the best player on the opposing team last night for PG and the Oklahoma City. He made sure people are paying attention to him now. George goes off for 36 points including two clutch shots down the stretch and 13 rebounds beating the Milwaukee Bucks, 118-112.
Player of the Game: Paul George – Not to go all Bill Simmons on you, but here’s an obscure reference that only a few will understand. George reminded me of Big Sean when I saw him in concert a few years ago. Sean was the second headliner with Future being the top billing and Migos being the opener. Everyone was fired up to see Future and Migos because they were both getting red hot in the hip-hop world. No one gave shit about Big Sean. But that night, Big Sean was the best rapper out there. Everyone’s all excited about watching Giannis, but George was the star on Sunday. He played absolutely amazing last night.
Silver Star: Khris Middleton – Yes, we got ourselves a good Khris Middleton game. Middleton scored 22 points, six assists and four rebounds in an effective night. He played really well in this one. With George’s attention going towards on Giannis on defense, Middleton had a great night. It’s been rare that we’ve received Giannis and Middleton both scoring 20 plus points in a game.
Positive: Bucks never quit when it would be so easy – I know we talked about how they battled back on Friday, but this is a different kind of battling. Oklahoma City’s defense was absolutely sweltering tonight. Giannis kept getting blocked by a variety of people inside, there were barely any open looks and Milwaukee struggled at variety of stages in this game. Bucks could have easily got beat by 15 to 20 points tonight. They played their asses off and just didn’t have enough stops in them to win.
Negative: Bench needs to pick it up – Last two nights, the bench has been awful. Among the five players who saw time, they had a grand total of 15 points. On Friday night, they had only 14. Bucks need to have someone off their bench giving them more points than what’s been happening of late. Ersan Ilyasova hasn’t been the same since his injury. D.J. Wilson sagged a little bit in the last couple weeks. George Hill has been very ‘meh’. Hopefully, someone finds their swagger off the bench.
Highlight of the night: George puts Giannis on a poster 🙁

Next up: Bucks will head to Detroit to take on the Pistons for the fourth and final time of the season. Milwaukee will look for a sweep of Detroit which has never happened. They’ve had long winning streaks against Detroit in the past but never a sweep. Pistons have lost three of its last four, yet, they will be well-rested.
