Bucks G League Coach Delivers Rant of the Year

Milwaukee Bucks have the best record in the NBA, you know that I know that. But what you might not know is the Wisconsin Herd also has the best record in the G League. They’re 28-9, and they’re one game better than the Maine RedClaws, Boston’s affiliate. They’re coached by Chase Buford. If you did not know, he is a young guy, actually younger than me (Yikes!) and apparently, he can unleash a coaches’ rant for the ages. After the Herd dropped a game to Grand Rapids, he went OFF and it went viral on Sunday afternoon.
Early candidate for coaching rant of the year! Wisconsin Herd Head Coach Chase Buford after his team saw a 21-point lead disappear in the 4th quarter vs. Grand Rapids. And because he asked: @nbagleague pic.twitter.com/cw5t1lMSKI

I love that he calls a ref by name a ‘fucking clown.’ That is a great insult. Calling someone a ‘clown’ drives home the point of how much of an idiot you think they are. Another great part of this one is how he doubles back to drive home the officiating was awful last night. He started with it, acknowledged they needed to play better, then went back to the well criticizing the officials. I didn’t know I needed my coaches’ rants to feature disheveled hair, but that’s a great addition to the coaches’ rant recipe.
The General Manager of the Herd and Buford both apologized later which is par for the course in 2020.
Charlie.
