Bucks GM Search Shouldn’t Freak You Out… Yet
I’m not sure if you know this about me, but I can overreact at times. Yes, it’s true. I have a tendency to put the cart before the horse on too many occasions. Last night would be a perfect example. I saw former ESPN reporter Marc Stein report that Ed Stefanski would be getting a look at Bucks GM this week, and I lost my mind for a sec. Stefanski is not a good GM by any means and helped drive Sixers into the ground paving the way for Sam Hinkie. Then Bucks Twitter made me see the light.
I'd guess it's more likely that Zanik is the clear favorite and they're just getting some other people through to call it a search. https://t.co/3sKSwfNGGm

Frank Madden, to me, is the king of reason most of the time when it comes to Milwaukee Bucks. This is a good and salient point as to why Bucks are gathering names in a GM search. They know Justin Zanik is probably the answer, but the search firm needs to fill out a few candidates to satisfy their work. This has been done before mostly in college football. We’ll see a search firm come in and guys interview for the job yet in the end, we know it’s going to the one guy that was the favorite all along. At first, I freaked, but now, I see it as Bucks doing their due diligence.
Now if we get word that Stefanski is a favorite, I think that’s why it’s time to panic and run to the bunker. He’s only scary because it’s the good ole boy network with Rod Thorn during his time with then New Jersey Nets and he was there when Jason Kidd finished up his time there. To me, Thorn is bad news. I don’t mind him as an advisor, but I feel like he wants to infiltrate Milwaukee more than he already has. If that holds true, Stefanski may have a real shot, but let’s not go there yet with him.
Hopefully, we can all remember this fondly when Zanik has the job at the end of next week.
