Bucks Lack Fan All-Stars But It Doesn’t Matter
Fan voting is overrated to the highest degree. It’s great engagement, and all of the websites get all sorts of clicks and pageviews during the voting period. Also, they can manufacture discussions for ESPN, local radio and many other outlets. Bucks are an easy team to talk about today because they have one ‘Fan All-Star’ with Giannis Antetokounmpo, the leading vote getter, and every other player is nowhere to be found. How is it possible the best team in the league has only one fan All-Star? It’s pretty simple actually, there aren’t many household names but don’t get workout over it.

Let’s take this for one grain of salt. Look at some of the fucking names on this list. Jeremy Lin and Vince Carter… Their both backups on one of the worst teams in the league (Hawks are better than they’ve been recently, please don’t jinx the Bucks). Dwyane Wade is a corpse who I love to death. Gordon Hayward had his best game of the year on Wednesday. Both Wizards players are on the list, and they’re another team that sucks. Even though the Western Conference doesn’t matter for the Bucks, DeMarcus Cousins is also on this list who hasn’t played on game. The point of this practice is to show you all of the players mentioned are popular players from the past. Bucks do not have anyone on that popularity level besides Giannis.
Does this mean the Bucks need to make Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe and Brook Lopez more marketable? Maybe. But the coaches and players will make sure that any of those three could end up in the All-Star game. Malcolm Brogdon also could be considered for the All-Star Game as well. This isn’t a cause for concern. THis isn’t the Bucks not getting respect. Most fans voting in this thing are idiots.
