BucksCap: Bucks Battle Back But Come Up Short
Milwaukee Bucks won four straight games headed into their game against the Utah Jazz last night. Bucks had lost 16 straight games to the Jazz at Salt Lake City. The hope was that Milwaukee could have cured their demons this year. But Utah is one of the best home teams in basketball. They flexed their muscles early on and built out a big lead. Giannis Antetokounmpo led a big comeback, and it’s too bad he didn’t get to see the end of the game due to poor officiating. Bucks fell on a buzzer-beater in what was a crazy night in the NBA.

Player of the Game: Giannis Antetokounmpo – What a second half from Giannis. He scored 28 of his 30 points in the second half. He is the second player in history to have three straight games of 30 points, 10 rebounds, and five or more assists. Dude is on another level right now. Antetokounmpo played a large part in Milwaukee getting back into this game. Bucks do not get blown out with Giannis leading the guys. He doesn’t let them lose laying down.
Honorable Mention: Bojan Bogdonavic – I’m very happy that Bojna is now in the Western Conference. He seems to always kill the Bucks. Bojan did it again last night. He hit the buzzer-beater to beat Milwaukee but had a huge game leading up to it. Bogdanovic had 33 points with five rebounds and five 3-pointers. Every time that Utah needed a bucket, they got one from Bogdonavic.
One Thing I Hated – Giannis is getting squeezed by officials: This is soon-to-be a long post that I’m going to write probably for Monday, but here’s the thing, Antetokounmpo is getting absolutely fucked. Refs do not know how to officiate him. He is too big, too strong, too physical. Bucks need to come out swinging with their opinions on Antetokounmpo.
Another Thing I Didn’t Like – Bucks need to work better on late-game situations: Could things have been different if Giannis was still in the lineup? Probably. But putting Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez so close together led to them almost colliding. Middleton has to shoot that ball though. Worst case scenario Middleton gets fouled, the ball goes up for grabs and the clock runs out or gets blocked. Milwaukee needs to be better in those scenarios.
Next up: Milwaukee finishes their road trip and plays Oklahoma City on Sunday evening. Thunder isn’t as bad as some make them out to be but they haven’t done well against good teams. Bucks finishing off the road trip 3-1 would be great.
