Budenholzer Keeping Sweeney isn’t a Big Deal
There are times where Bucks Twitter needs to sit in a corner and think for a little while before tweeting reckless. One of those moments was yesterday morning when Mike Budenholzer announced that he would be keeping Sean Sweeney on staff. They lost their minds because most people want to see a complete gutting of their coaches, and people blame Sweeney for having an effect on some of the bad things Giannis does on the court. I’m here to tell you that it isn’t a big deal that Sweeney kept his job. Budenholzer knows coaching talent and keeping players happy thus this move is probably more the latter, but he think Sweeney can help.
The reason why Sweeney kept his job is two-fold. He has a deep relationship with Giannis, and I’m sure Antetokounmpo, the loyal guy tha the is, wanted to make sure that his coach was protected. I’m not surprised Giannis got what he wanted there. The other reason is Budenholzer will get an idea of the player development, the good, the bad and everything else about each player from Sweeney. Whether it’s a good thing or not that he’s the messenger, I don’t know if it’s really a problem. He’s going to be in a lesser role with the team. I’m sure of that with the talent Budenholzer is bringing to Milwaukee.
This doesn’t dampen the hire. He still brought multiple guys from Atlanta to Milwaukee who are all going to be great for the Bucks.
