Can Vince Young Go Away Forever, Please?
No one milked his short career in the National Football League than Vince Young. Sports Illustrated did a big piece with the former Texas great this week, and it’s picking up some steam. Mostly for the comment about Ryan Fitzpatrick still having a job in the National Football League and Young is trying a final attempt in the Canadian Football League. Young needs to stop being bitter and move on to better things in life.
Young wondered why Fitzpatrick has a job, and he fails to see that he never really provided anything as a backup quarterback. Here are the list of teams that gave VY a chance to reclaim his career after Tennessee – Philadelphia, Buffalo, Green Bay to name a few. The last two were disaster training camp experiences. If the former third overall pick would have shown promise, he would still be on a roster. It’s not about Fitzpatrick’s interceptions, rather, he provides something to a team in value being their backup quarterback. That seems like a hard concept for many people to understand about different backup quarterbacks.
We’ll always have the 2006 Rose Bowl aka the greatest college football game to ever be played. Young stunned the world, and that’s something we will remember until the end of time. He put a stake through the heart of USC Trojans and their super team.
Best of luck in Canada.
