ChallengeCap: The Return of Barbie Beast

The Challenge has given us many great nicknames over the years. This is a case for why The Challenge is like pro sports with all of the nicknames given. One of the best ones is The Barbie Beast about Jenna. She is not the brightest crayon in the drawer, but dammit does she love Challenges. Jenna gets put in final elimination against Tori and while everyone thinks Jenna is going to let Tori dominate and get her red skull, that didn’t happen. Jenna found his energy for this game and now puts herself back into the conversation of those who can contend at the end of this.
Rate this episode: 5/10 – Here’s the thing, this was actually a good episode. But it dragged everything out. We only saw an elimination from last week’s Challenge. That’s it. Nothing else. There is a theory out there that MTV is extending this show based on good ratings during the time of COVID-19. Therefore, they’re including extra scenes and content that wouldn’t typically be on the show. I’m buying into that 100 percent. But I loved the Nelson drama, Nany being drunk with power and alcohol, and Dee thinking she’s better than she is.
How did the Power Rankings stack up? Not great, Bob! Tori was our seventh contender and she’s eliminated meaning we will have a move up in the rankings from someone. That someone could be Jenna. I originally put her in my top two groups then she had a dramatic fall like a college team who lost three straight games. Jenna will likely find her way back next week. Nelson will tumble as he is likely on the chopping block next week.
One Thing I Liked: Everyone ganging up on Nelson – You love to see this. Nelson apologized to Aneesa which was the right thing to do. Then he turns around and gets mad at Kaliah. Nelson goes so far and calls her a slut. Everyone hated that. Nelson is on a first-class ticket to the elimination round this week. He is not a house favorite.
One Thing I Didn’t Like: Nany wasting a cup of noodles – This will be a Challenge memory for sure. Nany launched a ‘Cup o Noodles’ at Aneesa as they were fighting. Nany realized she was the drunkest girl at the party and immediately apologized. We have all been there.
What to watch: It is a double-elimination week. Things that I’ll keep my eye on – Nelson is likely getting sent in. Does Jordan, Bananas, or Wes want to challenge him? With Tori gone, I’ll be curious to see how the girls play out here. Will Kaliah or Nany try to join Jenna with a red skull in their alliance?
Charlie.
