Chris Simms’ Packers Prediction is a Fire-Red Take
You ever see takes on the Internet, whether it be from a writer or an analyst, and you just know they’re purely trying to get attention? It happens all of the time, and that’s why saying the most outrageous things possible gets you headlines. It’s how Chris Simms gets me to write about his sorry ass. The Bleacher Report co-host and future Notre Dame TV analyst drew ire from Packers fans saying the team will miss the playoffs. I cannot begin to explain how dumb this comment is from the former Longhorns quarterback.
Look I get it, Packers were 4-6 at one point of last year before getting super hot again and finishing strong. Simms does not believe that will happen, rather, the team itself will fall apart and struggle. That’s hard to see in the NFC North. Detroit Lions are not going to be fighting for a playoff spot. Bears have some defensive talent, but Packers’ overall talent should weigh out. The Vikings are an issue especially on the defensive side of the ball, but they even have some holes that are wider than the team would want it to be.
Also, Packers upgraded their team on both sides of the ball more than they have in years past. I don’t understand where Simms thinks this team could lose nine games. I have them around 13-3 or 12-4 with a realistic lens on what the season may end up like for this team. Simms and others need to face facts that this is a good football team with a legitimate shot at having homefield throughout the playoffs.
