Dear Northwestern, Thanks Now People Will Forget About Us, Signed Marquette

Marquette basketball had one of the worst collapses I’ve seen from a team in a long time. They could not make any shots. They were punched in the mouth. And it was overall ugly. For those that didn’t see it or don’t know, Marquette had an 18 point lead in the second half. It evaporated like water on a hot day, and they ended up losing by 11 points. This means that we had a 29 point swing in that game. Not to be undone, Northwestern had a ‘hold my beer’ moment. Northwestern led by 16 at half then proceeded to only score 13 points for the remainder of the game. At one point, the second half score was 46-9. They made a total of two shots.
Northwestern came into today shooting 47% from the field
They shot 2-24 (8%) from the field in the 2nd Half

I’d like to think that this is a gesture from Chris Collins to Steve Wojciechowski. It’s very thoughtful and respectful. But yeah, no one is going to talk about what happened to Marquette on Tuesday. That is an afterthought. Maybe it gets brought up next week when they play Providence, but that’s it. Thank god, I didn’t bet this one. I did lean Illinois honestly, but Northwestern is loved by the advanced metrics. They’re a hard time to figure out.
Charlie.
