Do People Care About Jeff Janis’ Packers Takes?
Jeff Janis is a beloved cult hero. From the JANIS drops that Bart Winkler and the boys at 105.7 FM The Fan put together to the dramatic playoff Hail Mary catch where everyone yelled to their buddy, ‘I TOLD YOU HE SHOULD BE PLAYING MORE!’ Janis is currently looking for work as he did not catch on with Green Bay East… Excuse me, the Cleveland Browns last season. Janis might be a candidate for the AAFL which debuts next week. Regardless, he’s a popular figure and the DFS community also loves him. Davis Mattek, fantasy football analyst, did a podcast with Janis who gave some thoughts on the Packers.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel does a great job of giving you the highlights of the podcast, and they do it in a fair way. I appreciate Janis feeling like he was slighted, but the biggest question I would have for him is if the route tree was so archaic, why didn’t you learn it? And it’s unfortunate you didn’t get opportunities in practice, but guess what? Not many second and third-string guys get a ton of reps in practice. I played on the scout team for UW-Eau Claire. I did not see many reps with the first-team offense over two years. That’s part of playing fucking football. It’s not a participation trophy.
I like Janis. I’m never one to fellate him like others in Wisconsin, but it’s an odd move to rip a former team when you need a job.
