Donald Driver Recruits Cole Beasley to Green Bay
Cole Beasley finds himself in the news on a slow sports Wednesday. Why you ask? Beasley spoke out yesterday about how the Dallas front office determines who gets the football. Beasley basically lit a fire on the bridge of his relationship with Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. A part of me cannot Beasley was so candid with his answers considering Dallas, much like Green Bay, does not let a lot leak out there unless it’s driven by Jones and company. Former Green Bay Packers receiver Donald Driver saw an opportunity to ask him if he wanted to be a Packer next season and like any athlete on social media, Beasley dropped an eyes emoji.

I’m into this option for the Packers. I’ve said a few times that the Packers need a veteran receiver next season to go along with Davante Adams and the young guns. With Adams’ success on the perimeter, a veteran slot receiver makes some sense. Golden Tate is a name that’s been brought up, and Beasley would also fit this role. Bease likely comes cheaper than Tate considering the production does not show up in the box score, but he is great around red zone which the Packers desperately could use from a receiver with a nameplate that isn’t Adams.
The contract projection is three years and 22.44 million dollars. CowboysWire does a great job looking at Beasley’s worth and makes a case for Dallas to keep him on the roster. Only Tate has been a better slot receiver from a yardage perspective, and it seems like Beasley would like to join a team that throws the ball around a little more frequently than the Cowboys did the last few years.
WHile Driver taking credit for bringing him here would be annoying, I’m into the idea of him being on the Packers. And yes in case you’re wondering, this is a wet dream for Wally Waukesha.
