Former Packer Brady Poppinga Delivers An All-Time Bad QB Take

Brady Poppinga is an odd duck. He has always been that way. My friend Mike and I used to make fun of Poppinga back in the day. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is his friend, but it always seemed like one of those friendships was Rodgers made jokes at Poppinga’s expense. From everything Rodgers talked about Poppinga, he seems like he is an odd duck. Therefore, it should not surprise any of us that Poppinga delivered the worst take of all-time around Taysom Hill and Lamar Jackson. The former Packers linebacker went as far as to say that Hill is a better player than the guy that won fucking unanimous MVP.
“Lamar Jackson is the poor-man’s Taysom Hill. It’s not the other way around. That’s what we have in Taysom. That’s why the Saints aren’t messing around. He eventually will be taken care of.” – @BradyPoppinga pic.twitter.com/dW66eAE7S5

There are a few things to unpack here though. For starters, Poppinga is a BYU alum, and he’s talking to a Provo radio station. If you were not familiar, Hill is also from BYU. I get that the Mormon Meathead wanted to gas up their hero, but this is a little too far. We all have to draw the line at some point. He could have said something along the lines of ‘Hey, look if Lamar Jackson won the MVP, the league is setting themselves up for Taysom Hill to be a starting quarterback in the National Football League.’ That headline might not blow up, but it is enough to get the protective underwear uncomfortable in Provo.
Look the Hill story was fun and cute for a while, but that hit its saturation last year. Thank goodness, Green Bay did not have to play New Orleans in the playoffs, and we had to hear that storyline hit over all our heads. Good news for those wondering about it if Hill stays in New Orleans, that storyline will come to roost.
