Good to See Green Bay Get Some Guys Practicing Again
Green Bay Packers had their first practice off after some time off with the bye week. This bye week was unlike any other bye week in most of these players’ histories with COVID-19 protocols. Not going to East Coast or West Coast to hang out or crashing your college team’s game that leads to the inevitable party then the inevitable jersey chaser. The good news is many familiar faces were joining the Packers’ practice this week. Equanimous St. Brown, Kamal Martin, Kenny Clark, and Davante Adams all practiced in some from yesterday. While it’s unlikely all four come back this week, the calvary is coming for an already successful team.
Clark and Adams will play next week barring any setbacks. They probably could have played last week if they weren’t going on bye the following week. Green Bay did the smart thing holding them back even if it seemed like a risk at the time. Those guys being back alone will help the Packers tremendously. After Adams’ comments after being held out, I wouldn’t be surprised if Matt LaFleur feeds him the rock a few times early in the Tampa game. With the emergence of Tyler Lancaster, it will be interesting to see if Clark starts moving around more on the defensive line.
As for the young guys, Martin and St. Brown were unexpected surprises to be practicing again. Martin’s knee injury was thought to keep him out until mid-November, but with him practicing this week, you have to wonder if one of the next three games is on the table. Martin will not be rushed back though considering the play of Krys Barnes and Ty Summers. St. Brown would only make the receiving core stronger. People forgot how much of a threat he started to become late in the 2018 season. If they can ESB, that gives Green Bay four useful wide receivers for Aaron Rodgers’ arsenal.
Hopefully, everyone can stay healthy this week and Green Bay will look very ready to take on this Tampa Bay squad.
