Herm Edwards is a Complete Nightmare
Herm Edwards is back in coaching after multiple years off the job. He will be taking over at Arizona State. Edwards is taking the place of reasonably successful coach Todd Graham. It is shaping up to be one of the bigger catastrophes in all of college sports. Edwards did not win his press conference, rather, he questioned a reporter’s credential almost like he didn’t realize Arizona State’s nickname is the Sun Devils. This is going to be a mess.

I’m not sure where to start when it comes to the Sun Devils making ‘The Room’ of coaching hires. First, we have the whole Herm used to have the Arizona State’s athletic director as his agent thing. Ray Anderson did work with Edwards on a agent-to-client relationship, and if you’re wondering, the Sun Devils AD did not recuse himself from the search. Then we have the Sun Devils announcing that they will run their program like an NFL one which is odd since it’s not the NFL. It’s also whacky that Anderson and Edwards are keeping all of the assistants. This smells like a complete screw job by Edwards and his buddies.
The first season for the new regime is not an easy one with Arizona State heading to USC, Washington and Oregon plus a game against Stanford. And on top of that, they face Michigan State in the second week of the season. I cannot wait for Herm to take over Butch Jones’ role of being a fake motivational speaker each week.
