James Ennis Thinks Philly Will ‘Walk’ to the Finals
James Ennis is a role player in the NBA. He is never going to be a star and a useful bench guy. He re-signed with the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this week. Ennis put it out in the media for the world to see that Philadelphia 76ers will walk to the NBA Finals with Kawhi Leonard being in the West. Ennis laid down a guarantee of the Finals in early July and also forgot about the Milwaukee who had 60 wins last year plus went further than Philadelphia last season.
James Ennis III to the @PhillyInquirer on re-signing w/ #Sixers: "Because it's a good team, and a good chance of winning. The East is going to wide open. We had a good chance last year. Kawhi is gone. He went to the West. So we are going to walk to the Finals in the East."

I hope every Bucks player has this tweet up in their locker room or it’s somewhere in the clubhouse because this is a ridiculous statement. This is great motivation heading into the season. Ennis made a mistake here as he decided to put the target on Philadelphia’s back. Now, anyone with chances of the Finals knows how Ennis and the team feel about him. I wonder what’s going through habitual line-stepper Joel Embiid’s head right now. I bet he wishes he said something like that. I saw a Philly fan in the mention say ‘Yes, this is the confidence we need!’ That confidence is needed, just not in the media for everyone to see especially in a dead period.
If you’re wondering how this could backfire on the Sixers, ask Vince Young.
