Jonathan Taylor Blazes His 40 & Pushes His Way Up Draft Boards

Jonathan Taylor is a special athlete. If you watched him with the Wisconsin Badgers, you know that. There was a bit of hype around him in the NFL Draft, but there were some running backs considered before him. Things might change after last night’s NFL Combine performance. Jonathan Taylor officially ran 4.39 40-yard dash at 226 pounds. That is the fastest 40 time for a player at 225 or heavier at the running back position in the last seven years. The only running back at that weight that comes close to him is Saquon Barkley. Taylor made his case for why he could be drafted on night number one.

What people didn’t realize is Taylor won New Jersey state in the 100-yard dash. He also ran on the Badgers’ track team’s 4×100 meter team. The dude can fucking move. And he is beefy. There is a worry about Big Ten wear-and-tear, but he should move up people’s draft boards. The only concern with Taylor is the fumbles. That’s a big issue, and one that might keep people from pulling the trigger. In my nonqualified opinion though, the fumbles are like a cold for him. He doesn’t do it for like three games then it happens in one game and does it twice or three times. It could easily be a mental thing for him that a team can work with him on not doing.
Taylor could join Melvin Gordon and Ron Dayne as first-round Badgers running backs. Hopefully, he gets that opportunity at the end of April. Regardless, Taylor is a big winner from the combine.
