Kevin Garnett & Former Celtics Explain Icy Ray Allen Relationship.
On TNT tonight in the popular KG’s Area 21, Kevin Garnett reunited his old Boston Celtics team with Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins. Doc Rivers even showed up for a little bit early on. There was one obvious missing piece of the puzzle – Ray Allen. It’s been known for quite some time that all of these players still hold grudge against Allen for joining Miami Heat and winning a title with their rival, LeBron James. I did think all of the players sans Rondo did a good job of addressing situation at hand.
“It was more than basketball for us… It felt like a sour breakup.”

The biggest takeaway you get from Perkins and Pierce is they were caught off guard by the decision itself. It’s not that Allen left the team, rather, he told absolutely no one from Boston. That bothered everyone from the team due to the family-like relationship of Celtics. Garnett and Pierce were the leaders, and everyone took their lead. It’s very fascinating to see this bridge is still burnt with no real effort to fix it. With 2018 approaching, all of these players are going to reunite in Beantown whether they like it or not.
Also, great business decision by Rondo by not saying a damn thing about LeBron. He knows better.
