League Executives Rank Aaron Rodgers A Justified Third in All QB’s

Aaron Rodgers is better than you think. Remember a month ago, CBS Sports had the gall to rank Aaron Rodgers outside of the top 10. This was a move to get headlines and draw attention to the fact Matt Stafford is inside their top ten. The thing that keeps you happy at night is the fact this is an opinion of one writer at CBS. This is his opinion just like my opinion with a SnotapWI Top Five. But Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com sampled over 50 league executives, scouts, coaches, players to find out who is the best at position. Folwer obviously started with quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers finished third behind Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson who took the two top spots.
Many people would not consider Rodgers a top three quarterback in the NFL. The stats do not exactly match up with that premise over the last two years. But those two years could be justified if you consider the rocky relationship with Mike McCarthy, and defenses completely figure out what Mac was doing. And in 2019, he is in year one of the Matt LaFleur system where it is a hybrid of Mac and LaFleur’s system. The fact people see him in this high of a regard stil should be a big thumbs up for all Packers fans.
Why? Because that means big things are coming for the Packers. Some of the quotes about how Rodgers wants to prove that he is motivated after the Jordan Love draft pick. And the note about year two in LaFleur’s system. James Jones, former Packers wide receiver, thinks this could be an MVP year for Rodgers. Is that possible? It will be a massive uphill climb with what Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Wilson are projected to do next year. Rodgers might be more free and with the focus on the running game, the pressure may feel less for Rodgers. This could lead to major things for him.
This is proof though how Rodgers is perceived far differently by league executives and teams versus fans and analysts. Packers quarterback is the bad man lurking in the corner, and he is ready to strike in 2020. Some will be surprised if Rodgers is on top of the quarterback world, but those who are reading through the tea leaves will not.
