Marc Lasry’s Tampering Fine Legitimizes Bucks

It is weird to say, but I feel like everyone in Bucks Twitter was fired up to see their owner get fined $25,000. There are only a few times where an owner getting a fine makes some sense. When he or she speaks out against bad officiating (The Mark Cuban special) or gets in trouble for tampering when they’re a small market team. The latter happened to the Bucks on Monday when Lasry received a fine for talking about Anthony Davis wanting to come to Milwaukee. While $25,000 is a lot to some people, that is chump change to the ownership. Wes Edens’ daughter Mallory seemed to support that notion based on his tweet last night about the whole ordeal.

Here’s the thing about this happening to the Bucks. It’s a big ‘Mama, we made it move.’ NBA is trying to get everyone to shut the fuck up about Anthony Davis, and so when Milwaukee gets a fine today, there is a feeling of ‘Oh we’re playing with the big dicks in the cracker factory now.’ Bucks aren’t some little engine that could anymore. They’re a powerhouse who might find themselves busted for tampering by saying how awesome it is that players want to come to Milwaukee and according to Lasry, ‘Building a winning mentality.’ The quote he had was harmless in my opinion. NBA is trying to reign what’s happening to Davis, therefore, they’re handing out fines like Oprah would cares. You get a fine! You get a fine!
Don’t get fined too many times, but this time, it’s pretty cool.
