Markus Howard: Best Scorer in Marquette History

Markus Howard needed 31 points to break Jerel McNeal’s all-time scoring record. Marquette played Loyola(MD) who was a 16.5 point underdog which meant Howard might not see the floor in the second half. He knew that if the record was broken in Game 1, he needed a fast start. Howard did just that. He scored 30 points in the first half and broke the record with a three (What else?) at the start of the second half. The dude is a bucket. He showed no signs of stopping last night.
Three ball breaks the #MUBB all-time scoring record! Markus Howard stands alone at the top of Marquette’s greatest scorers. pic.twitter.com/FdYrjS3QtQ

Howard had himself a game finishing with 38 points. It is a bad team they played last night, but Howard looked great in his debut. He seemed more likely to take it to the rim then just go after the three-point shot. Howard didn’t force one three all night in my estimation. Happy for the elite point guard, and he’s going to set this record at a very point. It will take another version of himself to break this record. t
