Your Marquette Bubble Watch Champ Week Guide
Marquette is squarely on the bubble. They are sitting right on top as a second team out at this very moment according to Bracket Matrix which is a handy resource for those bubble watching this weekend. There are many teams that Marquette fans need pay close attention to this weekend. And why most fans should spend their evenings with the Pac-12. This goes without saying, but this whole blog post is moot if Marquette loses tonight.
No Shenanigans, please.
Syracuse 60/133 – Cuse get a rare whiff of exception because of who their coach is and it’s really annoying every March. If they beat North Carolina tonight, Cuse will continue to play their way into the conversation. Let’s not have that happen.
Louisville 40/133 – Same goes for Louisville. They lose to Florida State this morning and another team goes off the bubble. There’s no way the Cards get any additional love. Although if they win, Cardinals can get another shot at Virginia.
Don’t let them get hot
Oklahoma State 16/133 – There’s a good news/bad news situation with the Cowboys. They’re not in many brackets, but if they were able to take down Oklahoma and Kansas in Big 12 tournament, the case builds for them. Let’s have Trae Young send them home.
Baylor 84/133 – Friday is a big one for the Bears. They play West Virginia, and that could help push them into the tournament, yet Baylor does have a mountain to climb at the six seed. Mountaineers beat the Bears twice this season, and we all know what they say about beating a team three times.
Alabama 79/133 – What a weird resume for Alabama. They’ve lost five straight games including one against Texas A&M last Saturday who they play on Friday. Alabama has Collin Sexton who can carry a team in a conference tournament. He makes me very nervous.
Pac-12: The Home of the Bubble
USC 118/133 – Ready to stay up late this week? USC is surging down the stretch despite losing on Saturday. Although, they don’t have many chances to make a case for the committee playing Washington/Oregon State then Utah/Oregon. None of these teams are tournament. One real issue here with the Pac-12 is that whole lower bracket could steal a bid.
Arizona State 124/133 – I don’t get the Sun Devils love. I get they beat Kansas and Xavier, but that happened in December. Arizona State has been legit garbage since, and Colorado beating them today which would make them sweat on Sunday.
UCLA 121/133 – The Bruins could face some issues if they were to lose to Stanford in the quarterfinals on Thursday night in Las Vegas. Stanford is another sneaky bid thief, and I’ve realized how much I’m going to worry about the Pac-12 this week.
Safely in, no matter what.
Kansas State 120/133 – I really don’t see a way Kansas State doesn’t get into the tournament. They play TCU on Friday which should be a pretty good game, and even if they lose, it’s not a bad loss at all. Wildcats feel close to a lock.
Providence 111/133 – I don’t know if losing to Creighton would knock Providence out of the tournament. That’s not a bad loss at all with the Jays safely into the tournament.
Happy Bubble szn y’all.
