No One Gives A Shit That You Don’t Watch Game of Thrones
Game of Thrones Season 7 began on Sunday night. All in all, the episode was an opening episode of Thrones setting the table for things to come this season with a grisly death to kick off the year. A popular trend on Sunday night featured people who never watched Game of Thrones talking on Twitter or Facebook about how they’ve never seen an episode. Look I understand that Thrones isn’t for everyone and that’s okay, yet it makes zero sense that people went to social media to talk about how they’re not watching the most popular television show in the world.
Here’s the thing – there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a non-fan. Nothing. There’s so much television out there right now. I believe UPROXX’s Alan Sepinwall said there were something like 400 original television shows last year that submitted to the 2017 Emmy’s. There’s way too much television to watch everything. I haven’t watched ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘The Wire’, ‘The Sopranos’ along with countless other great shows. Now, do I tell everyone I don’t watch these things? Hell no.
I’m sure this is a one-time Sunday thing on premiere day, but it was annoying as fuck. I think I saw more people talking about their lack of watching Thrones than those who actually watch it. Anyways, it was a great first episode and look forward to Season 7.
