Packers End 2017 In Most Disappointing Fashion
Green Bay Packers ended the season at 7-9. I feel like none of us could have seen that coming when the season began. Then again, none could have believed that Aaron Rodgers would get injured again like he did in 2013. Add to the fact, the NFC emerged as an elite conference this season, Packers had no chance to sneak their way into the playoffs. For the second straight, the Packers looked completely lifeless on both sides of the ball as the Lions embarrass them with a 35-11 beatdown to finish off the season.
It’s hard to fathom a more garbage outing from this team. They mailed it in like Vince Carter in his final year in Toronto. Mike McCarthy should keep his job, but I do think he needs to take a long look at the type of players he has on the field. It’s clear they didn’t give a shit and that’s really disappointing. I said I wanted the Packers to lose for draft position but for it to be competitive. The second part didn’t happen in the final two games of the season. Ted Thompson and company should take a long look at some of the players they have on the team before moving into the 2018 season.
To add the final salt in the wounds of this season, Green Bay went 2-4 in the division, and those only two wins were against Chicago. That’s fucking pathetic. I understand that Minnesota may be the best team in the NFC (PUKE), but there are no excuses. Green Bay needs to take back their division. We’re going to hear a shit ton about redemption next year, but it’s clear to me even with Rodgers, I’m not sure this team is in the upper tier of NFL teams. They’re in the second tier probably yet is that good enough with the best quarterback in football? Probably not. It needs to be better all around for this team.
Happy New Year and let’s hope the Packers 2018 is much better than 2017.
