Pat Connaughton Shows You Why He’s In the Dunk Contest
Pat Connaughton will be competing in the Dunk Contest on Saturday night. It is the first Milwaukee Bucks dunk contest participant since Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2015. This will only be the fourth time in Bucks’s history that they have a dunker in the contest. Sadly, I’ll be traveling for this weekend so All-Star weekend will be missed by me. That said if you’re around, All-Star Saturday is chalked full of Bucks with Connaughton in the Dunk Contest and Khris Middleton in the Skills Competition. Planet Pat showed on Tuesday night why he made the list of dunkers next week.

Connaughton will be up against stiff competition. He’s likely the underdog on Saturday. Dwight Howard is trying to win his second dunk title. The same goes for Aaron Gordan. Derrick Jones Jr. can fly through the air too. I’m not going to doubt Connaughton, but man, this is not one of those dunk contests where you don’t know one or two of the players.
PS: It’s an absolute crime that we didn’t get Zach LaVine in this one. Not surprised by that move at all.
