PBR’s New Can Makes Me Want to Buy A Zillion
Pabst Blue Ribbon comes out with new cans every year. It is a cool thing they have done for the last several years now. While I am a sucker for the traditional PBR logo, I do like the designs. It makes me feel cool drinking them. Hard to explain, but if you are a PBR drinker at the bar or at home, you get my drift. Here’s the design for this year, and they add a little more color to it that goes out of the traditional color scheme of PBR. I really like it and look forward to it being on my can this summer.

This year, we wanted to refine our voting process to get more eyes on our submissions and keep the Art Can an open discussion. Alongside our audience feedback + voting, we had past art can winners and @juxtapozmag also weigh in alongside the Pabst Blue Ribbon team. Swipe for a breakdown.
Trying to explain to people the rise of PBR will be impossible. It was not a beer that many of us thought about when I was in college. I still remember a friend of the program and SnoTapWI’s resident economist, Eric not liking PBR in college then got busted for carrying an open at UW-Stout. The height of irony. It didn’t become a known beer again until 2014 or 2015 then everyone was drinking it. Since then, it is a staple in Milwaukee. It would be cool to see PBR find its way back into Miller Park and Fiserv Forum in more places than just a few beer-specific areas.
