Rate This Packers’ Gold Concept Jersey
In my almost 32 years of living, I’ve never seen Green Bay in a yellow jersey. It is an interesting question to ask Mark Murphy about. Why hasn’t Green Bay had one yellow jersey? Honestly, the color is more gold than it is yellow, but on a television screen, it probably comes off yellow. Murphy’s answer would probably be showing me a picture of the then St. Louis Rams all-yellow uniforms. Could Green Bay find a way to make gold cool? This concept jersey from Reddit is a good start.
Let’s be clear, these cannot be color rush uniforms. All gold would be too much flash for the Packers. Not to be a traditionalist, but they’re not the Oregon Ducks of the NFL. They would need green pants likely. Unless the gold is dark enough, I cannot think white would work here. One way to add gold uniforms in a special way is by bringing them out in September. A few years ago, a charity began called ‘Gold in September’ here in Wisconsin raising money for childhood cancer here in Wisconsin. If Packers brought out the gold jerseys in September and made the game about raising money, that’s impactful stuff.
