Rodgers and Favre Missing From NFL 100 Ad
NFL 100 ad was one of the better ones of the Super Bowl. It’s apparent that the league will be going all out for the 100th anniversary. I doubt they’ll make teams dress like they were back in the old days like they did for the 75th anniversary. I still remember Green Bay having awful throwback jerseys for a few games. My guess is the league will do something like that this season as well. With the news yesterday that the Packers-Bears may kick off the NFL season, it felt right to have either Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre featured in the NFL 100 ad last night. Neither player was featured, and that made me a little sad if we’re being honest with each other.

The hail mary moment in the ad with Terry Bradshaw which led to Franco Harris making the immaculate reception could have easily been Aaron Rodgers throwing it to a notable receiver. Or the Patrick Mahomes moment where he slings the ball over to Odell Beckham Jr. It might say something about Rodgers’ popularity that the league focused on young quarterbacks like Mahomes and Baker Mayfield instead of players like Rodgers, Drew Brees or Matt Ryan. Favre’s appearance could have to do with the scandal that he ran himself into at the tail end of his time with the Jets. Most, if not all, of the players featured in that ad were about as clean cut as it gets.
I’m sure there’ll be a ton of NFL 100 things happening all season long, and games will be highlighted for it as well. Although if I learned one thing about Green Bay’s 100th season, it doesn’t always equate success.
