Russell Westbrook Dunking On Thon Was Mean
Oklahoma City’s guard Russell Westbrook had a hell of a night in a losing effort. The 2016 MVP finished with 40 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists. That’s a phenomenal line for Russ, and those were the type of evenings where he won the Most Valuable Player award last year (Cough, shoulda been James Harden, cough). The highlight of the night for him was Westbrook dunking all over Thon Maker. This dunk is one of the best ones of the year, and I feel bad for Maker, although, this probably will not be the last time it happens.
Russell Westbrook just about ripped the rim off the backboard and made Thon Maker wear it as a hat GOD DAMN 💀 pic.twitter.com/Ku5L5f98Ow

Listen, I would rather have the win over this dunk 100 percent of the time. I know basketball people act like getting dunked on isn’t a big deal, but Jesus, this wasn’t good. This is yet another lowlight on Maker’s season. We haven’t seen a good progression with Thon this season. I’m not sure if he’s just not good or struggling with his role with this team? We’ll see as the year moves on, and what might happen if this team actually gets another big man in there.
Before we go, let’s not forget Westbrook also got dunked on by Malcolm Brogdon.
"He jammed that right in Westbrook's face" 😱
