Sam Hauser’s Buzzer Beater Defies Logic
Marquette Golden Eagles were dead. Dead, I tell you. They were down by five points to the Creighton Jays with less than a second left to go in the game. Marquette received a quick bucket and had to force turnover in order to have a shot. All of the sudden, Creighton throws the ball away, and the ball goes back to the Golden Eagles. This leads to Markus Howard throwing a deep inbound to Hauser where he nails the shot at the buzzer. Now, it took forever to deterimine if this was in fact a buzzer-beater or if Hauser was too late. It is soooooooo close. The officials may be wrong but what a basketball game. Marquette-Creighton is a great Big East rivalry. The teams always play close and deliver great games.

We’ll talk more in the recap about this win for Marquette, but it’s a big one. To have Hauser be the guy that makes the buzzer-beater adds a craziness to it considering that Sam has been ice cold from the field in the last couple of games. According to Markus Howard, he practices this shot at all of the time, so, it’s no surprise to his teammates that the shot went in.
