The Challenge Power Rankings Week 11: When Things Starting Getting Real

When I write these Challenge Power Rankings, they’re mostly for fun and not serious typically. But things got real over the last week. Dee Nguyen made offensive comments about the Black Lives Matter movement. MTV and The Challenge severed ties with her a few days ago. The season will go on as planned, although, I’m sure they will touch on MTV’s effort to end systematic racism. No matter what the outcome for Dee’s year, it will be weird to see her on a regular basis. Camila had something similar years ago, and the MTV hasn’t tolerated this bullshit for a long time. It’s not a surprise that they cut ties with Dee almost immediately. Now, on to The Challenge Power Rankings.
TOP CONTENDERS
1. Jenny (LW 1)
2. Rogan (LW: 2)
3. Johnny Bananas (LW:4)
4. Fessy (LW 5)
5. Dee (LW 6)
Thoughts: With Wes leaving, will Johnny Bananas be able to control the game until the end? People like to eliminate Bananas, and they might want him to leave the game before the final mission. There are still a group of guys who do not have red skulls and with time running out, I wouldn’t be surprised if the youth group tries to force Bananas out.
CONTENDERS WITH A FLAW
6: Cory (LW 10)
7. Nany (LW:7)
8: Nelson (LW 10)
9. Kaycee (LW: 11)
10. Swaggy C (LW: 10)
11. Aneesa (LW 13)
12. Mattie (LW 12)
Thoughts: With the game getting deep into the season, I started to move around those with red skulls. Nelson, Kaycee, Aneesa all moved up because they have red skulls. Don’t be surprised if Nany tries to get hers this week. She needs to capture that sooner rather than later, and with her other veterans going after it recently, Nany will do the same.
COULD CONTEND IF THINGS GO PERFECTLY
13. Kyle (LW 14)
14. Bayleigh (LW: 15)
Thoughts: Both Kyle and Bayleigh do not have red skulls. Bayleigh and Swaggy C are both lacking a red skull. My guess is Bayleigh and Swaggy will work on a strategy that gets them an opportunity at a red skull sooner rather than later.
NOT A THREAT TO CONTEND
15. Josh
16. Melissa
Thoughts: The fact both are still on this season speaks to why the Red skull twist isn’t all that it’s hyped up to be as they have no place on The Challenge. My guess is we’re seeing Melissa going in this week and if she pulls off an upset, she might show that she belongs.
