Top 100 Recruit Justin Lewis Commits to Marquette
The 2020 recruiting class for Marquette Golden Eagles might be one of the most important ones in recent history. That isn’t hyperbole. Steve Wojciechowski’s seat is a bit warm but not red hot after the Golden Eagles flaming out in the final month of the season coupled with the Hauser brothers departure. Wojciechowski had five spots open for new recruits. They did a great job adding Symir Torrence who reclassified and is now on this year’s team. Then yesterday, they received a top 100 recruit, four-star talent Justin Lewis from the Baltimore area.

Lewis is a beast. He considers himself a stretch four at 6-8, but he is lengthy enough to play really multiple positions on the floor. Lewis can be a wing, but he can also take in the post. One of the things he’s been great at in high school has been rebounding. The dude mashes the glass and can really be a strong asset for this team’s future. One of the other things to like about Lewis is he’s been wildly successful in his high school career. He helped his high school program win three straight state titles in the competitive Maryland landscape. That’s not easy to do.
Wojo is two for two when it comes to recruits in 2020. We’ll see what happens the rest of the way. It does feel like Marquette is changing a bit adding a little more toughness and grit which has been lacking for years.
