Will Montgomery or Adams Play on Sunday?
Green Bay Packers are some of the best rope-a-dope artists in the business. They keep things very close to the vest. It’s why my podcast partner calls it ‘Red China’ because he feels that things are kept in great secret. The question comes up about what might happen with Ty Montgomery and his broken ribs and Davante Adams with his concussion. Both say it’s possible they could be out on the field come Sunday against Dallas.
For Adams, it’s incredible to hear that sort of thing after seeing the hit he received from Danny Trevathan. We all know that the National Football League and teams take concussions far more serious than they have in the past. Fans will express concern if Adams goes out there on Sunday, but honestly, the team will have done all of the tests to know he’s ready for Sunday without any sort of repercussions. The scariest thing about seeing a player come back from an injury like this is it happening again in the next game. To me, Adams is more likely to play than Montgomery in my eyes.
Montgomery suffered multiple broken ribs on the first play of the game. He also said that the doctors think he may be able to go on Sunday. But they did say to him that you could risk hurting multiple internal organs if he played on Sunday. Is that worth the risk? Honestly, I would probably wait a week or two to see if the ribs heal on their own a little bit more. They could take awhile to recover, but you don’t want this to be something that causes more serious damage. Although, who matters more on the field is probably Montgomery, not Adams.
We shall see how the Packers handle things this week. The injury report will come out this afternoon to see who practiced and who did not which might be the first tell if either of these guys are playing come Sunday.
