Wisconsinites Are RED HOT That Golf Is Banned
Yesterday, Wisconsin had its first safer-at-home day. Governor Tony Evers gave the ruling the other day and the rule is supposed to stay into effect for the entire month. Evers did say that it is possible the ruling could get lifted before those 30 days. In a surprise to no one, almost all outdoor activities are banned in the state. Evers does not want people to go to zoos, playgrounds, and other environments where the COVD-19 can spread. Despite golf being an isolated spot, it is not on the approved list. Golf courses are banned to operate in the state. People are not taking it very well.
The side of the argument of the golfer sounds a bit childish. We have people signing petitions. We have people narcing on those that are fishing. It is all a bit ridiculous. There is zero fucking chance that Evers will overturn this ruling. Why? Because it opens the door for everything else in the state. If one thing opens back up, questions get asked – ‘Well if golf can return, why can’t thing x come back?!’ It is Pandora’s Box. Also, the idea that the state or the WSGA could regulate all golf courses to have strong safety rules is a complete fantasy.
For those who want to golf, I get it. You want something normal in your life. Hell, I’m writing this late night because I spent too much time on Twitter and some asshole nearly gave me a panic attack. We all want to feel fucking normal again. Sadly, we have to accept this reality for now. And take it day-by-day. Every day there is new information, new stats, new things to know. We cannot succumb to wanting to bend the rules. I”m not going to preach at you. There are enough internet preachers out there. If you want one, I can show you the people I’ve muted in the last two fucking weeks.
Anyways, golf guy just give it a break, will ya? You will be back on the course in late April.
