BucksCap: Brook Lopez Finds It From Deep Again & Beats Magic

Brook Lopez is not having a great season offensively. Most of Lopez’s numbers this season are down compared to last year. But he is still a vital part of the Bucks’ success, especially on defense. One thing that is up this season is the blocks per game which sit at 2.6 blocks per game. With being Orlando, Lopez likely spent some time at Disney World on his off day. If he did, I wonder if he dunked his hands in the magic fountain to get his three-point stroke back. Because he made five threes en route to Milwaukee winning comfortably 104-92.
Player of the Game: Brook Lopez – The Bucks center scored 23 points with five 3-pointers. He also added six rebounds in a very efficient night. Magic is the type of matchup that fits Lopez well with all their big men. This is the first time that Lopez had 20 or more points since the first game of the Toronto Raptors series. It is the first time Lopez made five threes since March 2019 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Maybe this sparks Lopez. If Bucks can get him scoring 13 to 17 points per game, Milwaukee becomes even more dangerous.
Honorable Mention: Khris Middleton – Hope y’all are paying attention to what Middleton is doing night in and night out. Middleton scored 20+ points yet again, and he added 13 rebounds plus six assists. He continues to be a dominant force for Milwaukee’s offense. There have only been four games in the last month and a half where Middleton scored less than 20 points.
One Thing To Know: Bucks truly miss George Hill – I don’t know if we’ll see Hill before the All-Star Break. They might give him off until then. Milwaukee plays two more games – Sacramento and Indiana, but Hill has missed seven straight games with an injury. Bucks miss him as the bench scoring can be nonexistent without him. Bucks bench only scored 19 points without one player scoring in double-digits.
Next up: Bucks play Sacramento on Monday evening. It appears that they will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo. Giannis could be having a child any moment now. Sacramento Kings have won four of their last five games. Bucks were able to pull away from this team in December, and it would not surprise me if we get the same result in this one. Middleton and Eric Bledsoe were great when they played Sacramento last time around.
