Craig Counsell Surprises Brewers With a ‘Greeting’ From Their Families

Craig Counsell is a player’s manager. There is no question about it. People like to play for Craig Counsell. The first time you hear a player having an issue with Counsell might be the first one. To be honest, it would come as a surprise. Counsell is back to work as Brewers’ manager. Milwaukee had their first day of practice on July 4th. Counsell knew that many players were going through a ton of emotions out there practicing and leaving behind their families for the most part. The Brewers manager had a surprise for all of them. All of the families checked in over Zoom on the Brewers’ JumboTron to watch practice. New Brewers second baseman Brock Holt shared the experience.
I don’t know who had the dog in the upper left-hand corner, but that might be my favorite one. This is so cool. There is a reason why the Brewers have a great bond as a team. It starts with their manager. Doing something like this is a simple act of ‘I care about you guys more than just player son the field.’ This is the type of stuff that makes players want to play for you and deliver results. Good on Counsell.
Baseball is back in three weeks, baybeeeee.
