Do You Think Giannis Cares About James Harden to Brooklyn? Hell No.

Milwaukee Bucks won their third straight game on Wednesday evening. They handled the Detroit Pistons from the start of the game until the finish (Well, until the final three minutes when the cover blew up in our faces). Milwaukee is playing good basketball. They’re 8-4 on the year. The offensive rating is the best in basketball. The defensive rating is in the top ten. Obviously, the power dynamic in the league shifted yesterday with James Harden getting dealt to Brooklyn. There is a lot of hype about Brooklyn being the top team in the Eastern Conference. A local reporter asked Giannis about the deal, and he broke to the news to him. I fucking love that.
.@JimOwczarski just broke the news (?!) to @Giannis_An34 about James Harden to Brooklyn

This dude doesn’t care that Brooklyn added Harden. That is the furthest thing from his mind. The only thing that would have made it made it better is if Giannis said ‘Who?’ but he isn’t that type of guy. Giannis is dialed in. And when he is dialed in, it carries over to the rest of the team. The last two teams, albeit against bad teams, were encouraging. They have a big stretch coming up playing Dallas, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles. If Milwaukee goes 2-1 or 3-0 in that stretch, it’s a major statement.
There are a lot of parts of Harden going to Brooklyn that are bad for the league. But one of the good things that happened was the Harden-Giannis rivalry in the same conference. These dudes do not like each other. Therefore, those Brooklyn-Milwaukee games are absolute must-watch. Giannis is going to want to put 40+ points on Harden’s hard every time they play against each other this season.
