Don’t Overthink the Jordan Love Early Analysis
Jordan Love is under the biggest microscope in the National Football League. That might be a habanero hot take, but hear me out. Trevor Lawrence isn’t the biggest storyline for Jacksonville. Justin Fields might not start right away. Mac Jones will fly under the radar. Zach Wilson, who knows. All eyes are on Love right now. And they will get even bigger if Aaron Rodgers decides to sit out the season. Green Bay has a mini camp on Tuesday where Rodgers is expected to attend. Right now, there are already critics of Love. They’re worried about how much he checks down. Obviously, the reporters asked Nathanial Hackett about his young quarterback and things seem to be progressing along nicely.
Hackett on Jordan Love’s progress: “One of the bigger things with Jordan right now is just his confidence in the system. … It’s just about being able to make the proper decisions and timing and accuracy and all of those things have been better.”

Here’s the thing… None of this really matters. It’s fucking June. Sure, Love is getting reps, but it’s not like he’s working with the creme de la creme here. Davante Adams isn’t lined up on one side. Or Allen Lazard on the other end. There’s no reason to even worry about Love or think Love is hitting this other level. I saw one reporter do the eye emojis to these tweets which I don’t get at all. Is it exciting to see it come together? Sure. But is it some indication that Love is ready to take over the reign? No, not at all.
Hope Love continues to progress this summer and if he has to take the ball for the Packers, he will be ready.
