Introducing SnoTapWI Bar Watch, a New Way To Watch Sports

If you’re a fan of SnoTapWI or SnoTap or Sports News on Tap, I had something called ‘The Bar Watch Game of the Week’ when making college football picks. The game would always be at 9:00 pm, 9:30 pm or 10:00 pm start time. I explained that these would be the games where you pay attention to when you don’t want to hang out with your friends or don’t feel like talking to a girl you had an interest in (I was single when writing this haha). For some, it became a thing and now, I’m bringing it back. But in an entirely different way, can I watch sports at this bar?
Most bars in Milwaukee and Wisconsin will feature sports on television. But here’s the thing, they do not always know how to have different sports on television. That is the worst thing about watching random sports at the bar. More times than not, you’re dealing with bartenders who don’t care or know what games are currently on. You just want to watch Clippers-Sixers because you have Philly on the Moneyline, but the bar has something random on. Now, most do a solid job with local sports. That is easy enough. When you cannot do local sports, that’s a problem (Makes me think of a blog idea about going back to a bar that struggled with this concept).
Now, I’m not shilling for any of these bars. If a bar wants to invite me to their venue, I’m more than happy to take a step in and give my evaluation of their sports scene. I have a basic system that we will work off in each of these posts. It goes as followed. Is this bar trying to be a sports bar? Do they have a good amount of TVs? What’s the variety like? If asked, how receptive were they to change the channel? Did they at least have local sports on if Bucks or college teams were playing? From all of those things, I’ll give it a grade.
The grade will be A-B+ -> Great place to watch sports. B-C+ -> Decent place to watch sports but not a must in any way. C-D -> Avoid if you can. F -> Don’t waste your time. I’m assuming that there will not be an F, but you never know. If you have a bar you would like me to check out, hit me up on social media or drop me a line at snotap12@gmail.com
