Is The Marquette-Wisconsin Game Announcement a Big Deal?
Marquette and Wisconsin are getting ready to renew their rivalry on December 5th at the Fiserv Forum. All is right with the world that Marquette and Wisconsin are playing the first weekend in December. That’s when the rivalry has been for years and years. Last year due to Marquette’s game against Kansas State, they pushed ahead to a Sunday afternoon game. This is also the first sporting event that the Fiserv Forum is hosting since the COVID-19 pandemic. While the Fiserv has advertised shows that moved due to COVID-19, there have been no words on sports. Is this a big deal or not really?

My first thought is no, this isn’t a big deal. Marquette plays their home games at the Fiserv Forum. Of course, they’re going to be playing there. It is not like the Golden Eagles play their home games at the Al McGuire Center and this is the only game for the Fiserv Forum. Marquette is already set to play other teams at home too such as Oklahoma State, Lehigh, and others. The Marquette social media team said a schedule will be coming out soon.
Whether this game will be played with fans or without fans remains to be seen. We have a LONG way to go until December. My best guess is that they will have fans in the stands as long as there is a vaccine. I’ve stood by this comment through the last month that teams will start bringing fans back once we have a vaccination. That way teams and universities are not bearing the responsibility of someone getting sick. It is on the person traveling tot he game.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of Marquette’s schedule. It figures to be a doozy.
