Taylor Swift Not Playing Lambeau is a Miss
Taylor Swift announced her tour yesterday after she put out her brand new album on Friday. I haven’t listened to yet as I’m waiting for the Spotify gods to deliver it to my earphones, but from what I’ve heard from people, it’s a good album. Sadly for Wisconsin ‘Swifties’, she’ll not be making a stop here. She’s too big for the Bucks new arena, and Lambeau Field didn’t make the stadium cut. That feels like a misfire as Swift and her fanbase would have been a perfect test subject for the Titletown District.
Green Bay became more open to concerts happening on-site in the last few years with Kenny Chesney two years ago, and Billy Joel last summer, yet they could have tried the pop world with Swift. With all of the new amenities that downtown Green Bay has to offer, you would have thought Swift fits perfectly. I’m going to assume someone from the Packers reached out in hopes to nab the pop star. Because the opportunity is there with she taking multiple weeks off after Chicago in June (Hint: Probably playing Bonoroo, you heard it here first) and she heads back to the Midwest to play in Minneapolis over Labor Day weekend along with a few other places. Who knows maybe they were asked about a late August date, and Green Bay backed off from that idea.
Anyways, it’s a bummer we couldn’t get Swift at Lambeau. Hopefully, she returns to Wisconsin where she hasn’t played since 2013.
