Wisconsin Blows Out Louisville to Close Out An Impressive Non-Conference Season

Wisconsin Badgers finished up their non-conference schedule on Saturday against Louisville. They were making up the ACC/Big 10 Challenge as the Cardinals battled COVID-19. They’re still battling it and came in pretty wounded. This showed immediately. Wisconsin jumped out to a 21-4 lead in the first quarter of the game. They never looked back from there. Wisconsin delivered one of its biggest blowouts of their program. Badgers won 85-48 in a dominating performance to finish off their non-conference heading into the Big Ten gauntlet.
Player of the Game: Micah Potter – What a game from Potter. He was dominant out there. Potter scored 20 points with seven rebounds and two made threes. Louisville had no answer for Potter down low. He was a force against the Cardinals. This is probably Potter’s best game of the season. He had 19 against Pine-Bluff, but it’s Pine-Bluff. He dominated out there. Great performance from the Badgers’ big man.
Honorable Mention: Aleem Ford – One thing that hasn’t been talked about a lot this season is Aleem Ford’s offensive prowess. He is having a solid offensive year. Besides the Loyola game, Ford has scored 10 or more points in each of these games. Ford doesn’t have to be a 15 to 20 point scorer, but if he is giving Wisconsin 10 or 12 points, they’re going to win a ton of games.
What went right for Wisconsin? – Everything, but seriously, the three-point shooting: Wisconsin cannot miss from deep. They’re the fourth-best three-point shooting team in all of the country. Brad Davison found his stroke again. D’Mitirk Trice is making things happen from deep as well. They’re in a good spot from deep and as long as they don’t fall in love with it, they’re going to be great.
Next up: Wisconsin gets ready to take on Nebraska in their first Big Ten game of the season. This should not be an issue for the Badgers, but they cannot look ahead of their Christmas Day matchup against Michigan State.
